How to take photos for your telehealth consultation

Before your Zoom consultation with Dr Vlad ILLIE, please email us the required photographs along with your GP referral, as per AHPRA requirements. These images are essential for your assessment.

For the best results:

  • Use a plain background (preferably a blank wall)
  • Ensure good, even lighting (natural light is best)
  • Keep the camera at eye level for the area being photographed — do not angle up or down
  • Stand upright with a relaxed posture
  • Wear minimal clothing so the area to be discussed is unobstructed
  • Remove jewellery and tie back long hair if relevant
  • Take clear, in-focus images showing the whole area

Sending Your Photos

  • Email all photos as JPEGs or PNGs in one email along with your GP referral.

Face and Neck

  • Take photos with your full face and neck visible.
  • Remove make-up and tie hair away from your face.
  • Keep a neutral expression with your mouth closed.
  • Include the following views:
    1. Front (looking straight ahead)
    2. Left profile
    3. Right profile
    4. Left 45° angle and Right 45° angle
  • Frame from the top of your head to just above your armpits.

Breasts

  • From just below the neck with shoulders visible down to just above the belly button.
  • Stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart, arms relaxed by your side.
  • Views required:
    1. Front
    2. Left side
    3. Right side
    4. Left 45° angle and Right 45° angle
  • Keep posture natural — avoid tensing muscles.

Abdomen

  • From below the chest to the lower abdominal area.
  • No undergarments should obscure the abdomen.
  • Stand upright with arms by your side, abdomen relaxed (do not suck in).
  • Views required:
    1. Front
    2. Left side
    3. Right side
    4. Left 45° angle and Right 45° angle

Arms

  • Raise the arm to 90 degrees, so that loose skin and contours are visible, with both shoulder and elbow in frame.
  • Do not flex your muscles.
  • Take photos of both arms from the following:
    • Front
    • Back (if relevant)

Thighs

  • Wear shorts or underwear so the upper thighs to below the knees are visible.
  • Stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart and arms by your side.
  • Views required:
    1. Front
    2. Back
    3. Left side
    4. Right side
    5. If possible, please include Left 45° angle and Right 45° angle
  • Slightly bend one leg and pinch the inner thigh for close-up images (both left and right).
